So the two most often-cited metrics in College Basketball are consistent: Mizzou should be a 4-seed, Michigan should be a 7.

And yet... Current projections have Mizzou as a 7-seed, and Michigan as a 4... the seeds are inverted.

What's the rationale for that?...

It seems like the official NET metrics are selectively applied. For a school like Mizzou, they'll find the worst possible subset of metrics (no matter how obscure) to justify a lower seed. For a school like Michigan, they'll do the opposite.

I guarantee that if Mizzou and Michigan swapped resumes, the seeding wouldn't change at all – Mizzou would still be a 7 and Michigan would be a 4, and they would cite the overall NET rankings to justify it.
