we've closed badly down the stretch. Win and you prove that you belonged in the top half of the best conference in the country. Lose and you're left with doubt.

As far as overall tourney, I don't think it matters much beyond that. The committee will be looking to down-seed some SEC teams so that they're not filling up all of the top slots. They'll balance it with some Big 12 and B1G teams.
