the very idea of them is moronic in terms of applying them against allies. Tariffs will cause the consumer to look elsewhere for the products, thus in theory and at times in practice, the nation causes lost market share to the nation that faces tariffs. This is not brain surgery. AND Trump has said "we" will be so rich not understanding the money is coming from American consumers who will not be getting "so rich".
