81m voted for Biden in 2020 to Trump’s 74m. 75m for Kamala Harris in 2024 to Trump’s 77m.
Some people may have changed their vote based on Biden or Harris, some may have not voted, and some previous voters may have died between then.
Biden with 51% of the vote in 2020 while Trump had 46%.
In 2024, Harris had 48% to Trump’s 49%.
While marginal change, it was significant to the election results.
In 2016, 62m voted for Trump and 65m voted for Clinton. Despite more Americans voting for a Democrat, the Republican won. A jump in total number of votes in following elections doesn’t indicate people changing sides entirely. But it represents more voters casting their ballot.
