Defenses can easily shut-down Grill by putting an athletic defender on him.
At that point you have Mitchell playing 'NBA' one-on-one with no handles and no ability to pass once he starts his bump and grind.
Gray gives nice defensive presence but is a massive offensive liability.
Pierce has gone from at least forcing in-bounds turnovers to total disarray.
Bates & Perkins, perhaps some of our best guards ever when considering length, athleticism and ability to score, refuse to initiate offense, instead waiting for Grill to get open which he no longer does.
Combine all this with our new brand of defense that breaks down constantly, is generally fumbling and stumbling and allows essentially a layup marathon and you have a team that is a mere shadow of the one that beat Alabama at home.
Now even the coddling home environment isn't enough to propel them past a mediocre Kentucky squad.
They're going to lose two more games, cash their checks, and then start working individual opportunities from there...
