The Mizzou AD gave a 20-minute press conference today.
Among the highlights (some obviously are "no-duhs"):
1. He wants a proven winner with head coaching experience at several schools, and who is clear about the kind of program they want
2. A good recruiter
3. High-energy coach who is highly competitive
4. Sounds like he is mostly using AD staff to create his own coaching search, but has also hired an outside searching committee
5. He realizes the program will need more financial investment and commitment (he wouldn't say exactly how much is necessary)
6. He thinks WBB can generate more revenue if it wins at a higher level consistently
7. Had a brief meeting with current players last week and met with them later today
8. Wouldn't discuss why he allowed RP to go into her final season without firing her, or buying her out a year early
9. Feels the program was respected and run well
10. He wants all sports to be playing for championships
At least he actually held a press conference and took questions from the media. Not something MU has done before for WBB. Hopefully, that's a good sign.
