His assignment is simple:
1. Grind to the rim if you can do it in two bumps.
2. Pass if you can't, don't hold the ball more than three seconds.
That's it - do that every time and he'll have 20 a game easy.
But he gets successfully defended and he goes silent for huge stretches - can't do that.
Gray just needs to be out there all the time as the anchoring rebounder and defender. Play him until he fouls out if necessary.
Grill is the only player on the team that is not mentally weak - he plays 110% all game, every game no matter the score.
He's been doing a little better at attacking the rim and not taking silly forced shots. Only he can learn when he is forcing it and when he's in flow. When he's forcing it he's got to keep the ball on the floor and attack the rim - he looks to pass too quickly - if the shot isn't there attack the rim and pass on the way if necessary.
