They aren't sacrosanct and never have been. Slavic peoples have been at war with one another for centuries and these international boundaries are fluid. Russia doesn't even bother guarding their borders beyond a few checkpoints along major highways. The borders of the Ukraine have shifted massively over just the past few hundred years.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
