the first baseman should either cut if there might be a potential play at the plate, or trail the runner towards 2nd, since the 2nd baseman left to go outfield, and there is no need for him to be at first anymore.
This was all preventable by the actions of the 3rd base and catcher not staying put though. Neither had a legit reason for leaving.
