took on because the GOP powers told him he needed to balance his ticket. He did nothing to advance Trump's agenda or to assist him in beating down the insane attacks against Trump his entire first term.

This time around he picked an actual political ally who could help him advance his agenda.

Cheney was a DC swamp thing who was much more concerned with keeping the status quo so he and his could continue sucking off the DC teet for the foreseeable future.
