Putin has stated over and over that he wants the old soviet union borders. There is no way he will be satisfied with just part of Ukraine. He will wait to strengthen, but he will go for more. He has said that over and over. When someone tells you what they are going to do, and it is consistent with their actions, maybe people should listen.
