the issue is people were sold a bill of goods on electric cars, solar, wind etc in addition to the farce of global warming
For electric cars it doesn't matter if the gas/electric is cheap, they are way too expensive to buy, operate, maintain, and replace the batteries in addition to the real hazzards to the environment.
The only EVs worth buying are for performance reasons and those that want that will buy them. Tesla is competitive in that marketplace but likely needs new models
China may produce EVs for under $25K and you may have some bite and just throw them away after 5-7 years and they may be okay with that. But Americans don't like sardine can cars so I doubt it continues long term.
Hybrids make sense to a point for certain vehicles. Something other than battery power is the answer and we are decades away from that.
Batteries have been made for 150 years and we need a 3x technology increase in ability and longevity before they should even be considered. Ain't happening
