significant. This is a question, not a gripe.
If the Dept. of Education's federal spending is about 1.2% of all total federal spending is that significant? If you eliminated it, it would be less than a dollar a day on average per citizen. And who its existence important to? I know not everyone. But there are many people that rely on it to further their education.
In comparison, military spending is about 12%-16% of the the federal budget. Military spending is important, no doubt, but what level of funding is needed without being wasteful?
The question is, are these actually significant cuts or are they specifically making cuts to areas based on culture war agendas?
I don't know.
