I’d like to know how someone or group of people came to the conclusion and ranked us as a preseason number 15 or 16 team because it gave a lot of false hope. But as usual, all the cheerleaders fell for it, hook line, and sinker, predicting all sorts of bizarre outcomes of the season. This is clearly not a Top 20 team and staying in the Top 30 currently appears to be a challenge. Losing four of your best players from last year including a lock down pitcher and still ranking us that high does not make much sense. The remainder of the roster was hitting around 200 without those players. And please don’t tell me about the incoming class that killed it in high school. High school stats should never ever ever be taken into consideration since you’re lucky on a 15 girl roster if two or three of those girls played competitive travel ball at best and the rest picking up a glove at the beginning of the school ball season and putting it away at the end…from their freshman year through their senior year. Poor recruiting year in and year out by Larissa Anderson is coming to fruition. On the bright side, we are only two weeks in so maybe they can make a 180° turn since it can’t get any worse at this point.
