My mother has been going around with the VA for several years now regarding my dad's service connected disability. They kept throwing someone's name at her with the same last name, different first name, different DOB and different SSN.
Every time she called she was having them recite the same incorrect bullsh*t from the file and she'd ask them to remove it. My sister got involved and they supposedly removed it. Then my sister asked for a copy of the file and, sure enough, the wrong person was associated to his file and had never been removed. At the same time, instead of increasing the benefits they managed to reduce it by $400/month.
The entire system needs to be burned to the ground.
