It's way more complicated than that unless your just talking about everyone wanting their base Physiological needs being met, yes we all desire those to be met.

I've stated before I have worked in the Social Science/Mental Health industry for years and there is a variety of Factors that relate to the polarization of the masses across history and now.



What is most relevant today is that with the advent of technology that gulf is way more apparent to everyone.

Most people within even the same peer group cannot agree on what is the best way in society to achieve safety and security.
