From 1979-1990 MU and OU won 11 of the 12 Big 8 championships. ku was good in 1986, but otherwise it was KSU that was really the third team for most of the decade.

In three consecutive seasons (1987-88 through 1989-90), Tubb's Sooners averaged more than 100 points per game for the entire season. 15 times while coaching at OU his team scored at least 136 points They were amazing.
