saving maybe 1-2 hours max for an 8 hour drive and that is if there is no multi-leg flight
45 minutes to airport
15 minute shuttle from parking
1:15 minute ahead of flight
2-1/2 hour flight minimum for 8 hour drive
30 minutes to get rental car shuttle and check in
30 minute drive to destination minimum
That totals 5 hours 45 minutes minimum
If there is transfer add 2 more hours
And if i have a meeting that ends early but i have to wait around for a flight or deal with flight delays. I have been stuck about 5-10% of the time due to one transfer leaving before a delayed flight arrives
