Understand communists, understand Democrats

Maybe it's just us old guys who were former cold warriors who understand this, but the contemporary Democrat mindset is little different from the old communist mindset. As to the latter, there are certain things that are unmistakably true. The first thing one must know is that The Cause is paramount. To everything. Remember the horror stories of family members "denounced" or otherwise betrayed by other family members and never seen nor heard from again? Yep, EVERYTHING is subordinate to The Cause. The second is related to the first, in that to advance The Cause, attaining and holding power is essential. Again, all other considerations no matter how practical are subordinate. This is why CCP will tolerate or even directly cause suffering and death of its own people to maintain its power in the PRC.

With today's Democrats, anyone who departs from the party line is disowned and treated harshly. Screw the Democrats. Their party needs to die in its present form and go back to their roots.
