the "release the kraken" stop the steal gang was going to bring up all the evidence of cheating prior to the certification process. Agitators (Right wing groups like oath keepers, etc - left wing groups loosely associated with antifa, and embedded FBI assets) stirred the crowd and a few hundred idiots got violent (also exacerbated by the capitol police's actions) broke windows and then a bunch of dumb boomers walked between the stanchions through the capitol.

Trump spent the day fuming like a baby and then gave a speech imploring the crowd to make their voices peacefully heard and then DURING the riot posted an appeal on twitter imploring for the riot to end and for everyone to disperse but, for some reason, twitter took it down minutes later.
