I agree, they give the website way too little attention

They need at least one person devoted full-time to posting content in a TIMELY fashion, particularly event scores and related info within a couple hours after the event happens, rather than a day or two later. Then as you said, much better editing.
It would also be good to hire 4-5 part-time journalism undergrad interns to write stories about the athletes and update the athlete profiles, many of which are extremely out of date and or have next to no information in them. Those same interns could do more video interviews with the athletes and coaches, including Olympic sports coaches and assistant coaches, to generate some interesting content for the website.
