If the crime is murder, and the sentence is 20 years in prison, I'd rather be murdered.

If the crime is paralyzing someone in a DUI accident, and the sentence is 5 years, I'd rather do the time.

And if the crime is rape, and the sentence is 5 years, I would choose to be the rape victim before spending half a decade in prison. Anyone in their right mind would because most adults *fully recover* from being raped – not all, but most.

It's interesting that no one can answer this simple question. Instead, they get all emotional and hysterical about how rape is worse than murder and warrants a death sentence.
