There is only one gymnastics poll, Road to Nationals. And it is done purely on score. Obviously you want to beat your opponent but barely losing on the road with a great score is far more helpful to your ranking that winning at home with an OK score.
First seven weeks, rankings are by average score. After that, they are NQS which is a formula (add top 3 away scores and top three remaining scores - can be home or away. Drop the highest overall score and divide by 5 to get the NQS)
