The agents alleged crazy stuff but he wasn't convicted or even charged. The same agents that tried stealing the Bitcoin by the way.
He was only charged with drug crimes for drugs he never sold. Money laundering for accepting something that at the time the government never identified as currency. Fake IDs which yes he did that. Computer tampering which I think was because he set his laptop up to auto delete files so okay give him that too. Even if you count money laundering which by the letter of the law he didn't and the drugs which he didn't sell is that really two life sentences? The government wanted to make an example out of him to stave of crypto and unregulated "dark web markets" that they couldn't control.
12 years seems enough to me
