My Dad was a staunch 'Yellow Dog Democrat'. I recall explaining to him the reasons why I intended to vote for Reagan instead of Carter. I offered details of leftwing political positions democrats favored, policies that I knew Dad did not approve of. His response was those despicable policies were republican policies and that I was repeating republican lies. His mind was welded solid in Depression era thinking and there was no reasoning with him.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
