goes out of its way to mention the "Union Hill Shopping District" err, what? How is that area of any note as opposed to the Crossroads, Plaza, P&L, River Market, etc.

Union hill has a handful of restaurants and a couple local stores and thats about it. It's definitely not a notable destination that the city is known for.
