this has happened to literally every college program in the state of texas.

some big booster rides into town hootin and holerin and causin a commotion with his new oil money, thinking he can upset the order of power and take over this place once and for all. he spends big and gets a lot of attention and then after a year or two finds himself nursing a hangover and out of money, watching texas play in the college playoff.

right now it's tech. before them it was aTm. before them it was houston. before them it was tcu. before them it was baylor. before them it was oklahoma state (wait what's this guy doing here?). before them it was smu. before them it was...

it's just the way it goes in texas. somebody always thinks they need to prove that they're the biggest baddest hombre in town. and then the next guy needs to prove it. then the next, and the next, and the next.
