Beautiful country, very nice people, great food and drink at very reasonable prices. Didn’t go to Tamarindo but there are beautiful black sand beaches everywhere on the Pacific coast. Watch out for the ubiquitous riptides. Every year a few tourist drown in them.

Taxis are very cheap and will take you anywhere you need to go.

Lots of cool jungle stuff to do there too. Zip lining, ATV riding, etc.
