They are more focused on caring for others and and value community more than the individual. Their concepts of justice are different. The right focuses on retributive justice. People break laws, throw them in prison. Who cares for what their background is, they broke the law. Democrats focus on the why crime happens in the first place and want to improve conditions that give rise to crime. They are more focused on restorative justice. Republicans don’t care about social injustice that gives rise to crime. The criminal is always to blame, not society who creates the criminal.
It’s a different worldview. With polarization neither side tries to understand each other, just demonize the other like you are doing.
