That's the kind of program they've always been, except for the fifth-place finish they had a few years ago. I feel like that's about the best they can do. The coach just got a contract extension. Except for maybe wrestling, they've been MU's most consistently good athletic program.
As for the opening meet, it's still early. But they will be challenged more than ever this season, with 12 Top 25 teams on the schedule.
