Regarding recruiting, just look at Vandy…

They have 2 players in the top 20 in scoring in the nation right now, a sophomore and a freshman.
Pierre is a 6-2 sophomore, averaging 23/11. #6 in the nation in scoring.
Blakes is a 5’8 freshman, averaging 20 ppg, #17 in the nation.
Last night in the rout of Georgia, Pierre scored 28 points and Blakes scored 36.
When has Pingeton ever recruited players like that? And I don’t count Sophie just dropping into her lap.
Now, Vandy hasn’t played a very challenging schedule so far, and Georgia is awful this year. But Vandy did have a respectable 8 point loss to a top 25 Michigan St team. Remains to be seen how they hold up against the better teams in the SEC. But for now they are 14-1, ranked 26 in the AP poll this week, and have a NET rank of 16. And with those two young players, have a much brighter future than Mizzou.
Don’t think anyone has an idea of just how badly Pingeton has damaged the program here, and how long it’s going to take even a really good hire to rebuild. Sullivan made an immediate impact on the worst VB program in the SEC. We can only hope to hit that kind of coaching jackpot twice in a row. Wouldn’t hurt if the new coach brings along a player or two to start the process, although that would seem to rule out Harper to some extent.
