If you’re a basketball fan you should be excited about this season, it’s going to be a brawl in the SEC, well, at least among the top 10 teams in the conference.
#1 SC at Missouri
This will be a blowout, I’d consider it a moral victory to keep the final margin under 25 points. But it could easily be 40+ points.
#5 Texas at #9 Oklahoma
Game of the night, will be on ESPN2. Both have played light schedules overall but have each played 2 ranked teams. Texas beat #18 West Virginia by 5, and lost to #3 Notre Dame by 10 in OT. Oklahoma beat #24 Michigan by 10, and lost to #14 Duke by 10 in OT.
Miss St at #16 Kentucky
Probably the next best matchup of the night. Miss St is 13-1, NET rank of 29, Kentucky is 11-1, NET 32. Miss St has played an awful schedule overall, their SOS is 300+, but they did play 2 good teams close, beating #27 Utah by 4, and losing to #13 Georgia Tech by just 3. Kentucky lost by 19 points to #17 North Carolina, and had a good win over #28 Illinois by 23 points.
#25 Ole Miss at Auburn
The only other game worth watching. Ole Miss is talented, but have played an overall weak schedule with a SOS in the 300+ range. But they did play 3 really good teams and lost all of them, but they were close: lost to #4 USC by 2, #7 UConn by 11, and #22 NC St by 11. Auburn is 8-4, has a NET rank of 50, and right now are not projected to make the tournament. But they are still better than the worst 5 teams in the conference. Their 4 losses are at Oregon by 2, at Cal by 4, to KU by 1, and to Norfolk St by 4 at home.
#6 LSU at Arkansas
This will be a blowout, will be interesting to see if Izzy can get her 20+ points against another top 10 team. Arky lost to #1 UCLA earlier by 49 points and she had 15 pts on 5-18 shooting.
Florida, Georgia and TAMU all play ranked teams, hard to see any of them winning.
