Migrate literally means move from one place to another.

Data is migrated from one server to another.
Cattle are migrated from the farm to the slaughterhouse.

Yet migrate can also mean moving from one place to another in search of food, or away from seasonal weather patterns.

Context tells us the difference in these variations.
