Carter was horrible, but Reagan set the course for debt and government growth. We have had a couple periods of a bit calmer (1994-1998), and during part of Obama's term during the fiscal debates and some cuts, but between debt, and the Fed printing money, we are closing in on some breaking points. The only thing that helps us is that every other country is doing it as well.

In my lifetime, Trump and the Biden administration (Biden was not really President) are tied for the worst.
