I'll add two points...
(1) You don't need a winning conference record to make a 68-team tournament. In a strong conference like the SEC, you could even be multiple games below .500 (e.g. 7-11).
(2) Regarding your math — 13 teams in the SEC could actually finish with an 11-7 record (well above .500) if the other 3 teams went 0-18. So this is yet another math & logical reasoning failure on your part — like when you asserted that losing 8 consecutive games in CFB is statistically comparable to losing 108 consecutive games in MLB because its proportional to the length of the regular season. 🤡
