feel to the holiday event is very hard to describe to someone who has not experienced it or is not a Missouri or Illinois fan. It has lost a little bit with what has happened in colllege athletics the last few years. You no longer will have someone like Melvin Booker and his four year passion about the rivalry or Deon Thomas on the Illinois side. But from about 1988 on it truly was a classic event and to me the most unique neutral court game in the country. You also have to credit Mizzou fans who hung in there during the early part of the rivalry during some rough patches and let it grow into what it became.
