"break" had little to do with it. SMS attendance has been down for years. Announced season average last year right at an even 3,000, an obvious round up, and even the SMS zanies admitted that was a lie.

Springfield people finally realized this is low major basketball despite all the media bobos hype that it is a "major" program. Last NCAA appearance now 26 years ago and in the last century (1999).
