It looks like they pick the AAs…

without particular respect to positions in some cases. Obviously most of the players are going to be the front line hitters and middle blockers. Then setters.
The setters were really even across the first, second and third teams and the honorable mentions:
1st team: 3
2nd team: 3
3rd team: 4
Hon Mentions: 5
But the strange thing is there were 2 liberos picked for the 1st team, none on the 2nd and 3rd teams, then 3 for honorable mention, including Sands.
Can’t really argue for the liberos from final 4 teams Nebraska and Louisville making the first team. Then Sands and the liberos from Creighton and ASU made honorable mention, so she was considered maybe 3rd best in the nation, maybe 4th or 5th best. The puzzle is why no liberos at all were picked to the 2nd and 3rd AA teams.
