If you beat them, no one cares – and it does nothing to help your tourney resume.
And if you lose (e.g. if the team gets lucky and shoots "lights out" from three), then your NCAAT resume takes a huge hit – plus you're panned & ridiculed by the media & other fan bases.
It's a no-win situation. Risk without the possibility of reward.
