With that said, recruiting was his strong-suit. It's why I didn't expect his skillsets to translate to the NFL (where recruiting isn't a factor). It's also why he'll have a harder time succeeding at the college level going forward. Recruiting skills are less valuable now due to the impact of "NIL" and constant free-agency.
The same is probably true for Drink, unfortunately. He'll do fairly well, but not as well as he could have under the "old" rules that were in place when we hired him. (Conversely, Odom would have done better here under the new rules since recruiting was his greatest weakness.)
