Both could be true.
1. We were told that overturning Roe v Wade would result in many more women dying because of that decision. - True.
2. "you were told making it illegal wouldn't stop women from getting abortions" - True: "you were told that..."
and if you added the modifier "all" to that phrase:
"you were told you were told making it illegal wouldn't stop [ALL] women from getting abortions".
That would be a true statement.
It would be a very false statement, however, if the implication was that it wouldn't stop [ANY], or perhaps even [most] women [in states that outlawed it] from getting abortions.
