Good bowl draw... Iowa is an upper-half Big Ten opponent

and a natural rival as a border state. One of the reasons we haven't played them more often was due to a series cancellation (by MU) that created bad blood between the two schools. Then MU also cancelled a bowl game with Iowa during the pandemic - a game they likely would have won due to our depleted roster.
Also...
• A 10-win season is on the line.
• A year-end ranking is on the line (if we lose, we probably finish the season unranked; if we win, we finish Top 15-20).
• Iowa currently has 'scoreboard' over us (from the 2010 bowl).
• SEC vs B1G matchups are always compelling (and draw high TV ratings).
• Nashville is an excellent destination.
My hope was for the Vegas Bowl vs USC, but Iowa was among my top choices. They're a natural rival, and the fan bases definitely dislike each other (plus the B1G vs SEC dynamic).
I'm looking forward to it.
