That came through against their counterparts in the ACC to win the challenge.
TAMU, Georgia, Missouri, Florida and Arkansas are widely considered the worst SEC teams this year, will be genuinely surprised if any of them don’t finish in the 12-16 spots in the final conference standings.
Yet those 5 teams went 4-1 the last two days to lead the SEC to a 10-6 advantage over the ACC, in a very close and entertaining series.
Georgia lost at home to VT 70-61, but the other 4 lowly SEC teams got it done:
Mizzou beating SMU at home in a toss up game.
TAMU handling Syracuse pretty easily at home 57-45 (which does not bode well for us since Syracuse crushed us).
Arkansas beating what must be a really bad BC team at home 75-64.
Florida beating Clemson 77-64 on the road.
The conferences split the 4 games between 2 ranked teams, SC and Oklahoma winning and Texas and Kentucky losing (both on the road). Oklahomas come from way behind win on the road at Louisville was the most impressive.
Games with a ranked SEC team facing an unranked ACC team proved more difficult:
#19 Alabama lost on the road to Cal 69-64, #18 Ole Miss lost on the road to NC State 68-61, and an overrated #5 LSU barely getting by Stanford at home in OT.
There were no games between a ranked ACC team and an unranked SEC team.
