The FIB informed Facebook executives that that had all the earmarks of Russian disinformation and they should ignore it.
They were not ordered to ignore it, but when the mafia, sits in your kitchen and says you should ignore certain things, wink wink, that's generally taken as a bit more serious than a suggestion from a friend.
