Honestly, he's been ahead of the curve on most of the NIL/Portal aspects of the game since he got here. The problem is fans are now paying more than ever and not willing to go 6-6 (look at the Arkansas fan base). They are losing it right now. So you can't just focus on a great freshman class and wait (although Drink has had great recruiting classes since he's been here)
If I had advice for Drink, it would be to get a GM position much like LSU has done. With Mizzou's limited NIL budget (compared to other SEC schools) we can't miss on many players. I think this position would help him immensely. A guy like Austin Thomas
