Mike Elko has a difficult decision to make. He bounced between Marcel Reed and Conner Weigman this season, with both offering a balance of highlights and room for improvement in their respective opportunities atop the depth chart. Now that Weigman is transfer portal-bound, Reed has a clear path to retaining the starting job. His passing left something to be desired at times, though, and if Elko is not confident it will improve enough between now and next fall, he could very well turn to the portal. Losing Longstreet via a flip to USC makes that even more possible.
