should look at it and phrase it is that Vegas knows that the people who WOULD bet on the game THINK that Bama is 8.5 points better than ND.

That doesn't mean they are nor does it mean they are a better team, nor does it mean that Vegas expects Bama to win said game. It means none of that. It simply means that Vegas knows where people are likely to put their money at. Its all about perception.
