Basketball IQ and feel for the game is better than the credit you’re giving him. He didn’t just back guys down and score ugly layups before college. He has a nice feel for the game.
He doesn't need to improve his veritcal. Just agility a bit. Do you remember Arthur Johnson? He was a rebounding and blocking machine. Barely left the floor. At that size with that reach you can use your body.
Shaw is a great example. He’s very athletic but he doesn’t have a feel for the game. I know everyone thinks Marshall was lucky over and over again tonight. If you saw a lot of film of him he just does those little things all the time. Puts him self in the right place.
In my opinion he will be a starter from next year until he is gone.
