Bigs:
Gray:will provide size, physicality,rebounds and fouls. Slow lateral movement and instincts in lane will limit defensive impact. On offense good garbage man around rim. Hands of stone so no tough passes.
Marshall: Good skill sets and soft hands. Has low post game in addition to face up. However, in such poor physical conditioning that he can't run up and down the court for 4 minutes without being gassed. Until he gets into better shape he won't help much.
Burns:???
Forwards
Mitchell: effective 15 feet and in
Less effective around 3 pt line. Not a great 1 on 1 guy because he's slow w/ ball. Looks heavier around the middle than previous yrs and slower.
Shaw: Same player that entered 3 yrs ago. Limited offense with points from put backs and dunks. Lacks strength to bang and concentration needed to take the next step. Needs to rebound better.
Crews:Jesus w/ a jump shot. Plays in slow motion but hunts for shots. Defensive
liability and not much of a rebounder.
Impact should be limited once SEC athletes are opponents.
Pierce: has good tool set and always willing to shoot. Not much willingness on defensive boards, or D. Could be due to lack of strength. Best offensive potential among forwards.
Allen: competitor, plays hard and willing to do dirty work. Offense is limited. Will be interesting to see how he translates against better competition.
Boateng; a forward w/o a good handle. Looks as if he has jump shot out to 15 feet. Will need time but has chance to be good player second half of season.Strong. Not sure he's ready for 20 minutes.
