If not for the ku admin reaching out wanting some street cred they never would have agreed to the 2 game set we have with them starting next year and it could have been another 2 decades before we played again.
The nearest comparison would be like saying the USA is a rival to the USSR. They don't exist anymore but the remnants of one still tries to act tough.
Either way none of the teams on your list are rivals by any modern stretch of the sense. In fact an entire generation of kids have been born and are now in middle school since the last time we even played them. The same generation of kids are now sophomores in high school since the last time they even beat us.
I'm sure the next two games will be sellouts and hyped up, but other than that only really old foggies will give a crap. I certainly won't, just another game we should win, and I've been on this train for nearly 30 years now.
